Silver Star Motors customers score big at MercedesTrophy National Final June 2014
The 2015 MercedesTrophy Australian National Final was held at Sanctuary Cove, Queensland from11-14 June. The highly competitive and prestigious annual competition presented Mercedes-Benz customers with a passion for golf, the opportunity to experience two of Australia’s premier golf courses, courtesy of Mercedes-Benz.
As an exclusive international series of invitational tournaments for Mercedes-Benz customers, over 65,000 players from 60 countries tee off at the MercedesTrophy in local, regional and national events.
It was here Silver Star Motors were proud to send our top three winners from the Yarra Yarra Gold Course;Troy Pullar, Dexter Prak and Will Lauria to this monumental National Final.
The field of 77 qualifying competitors at the 2015 National Final were competing for the opportunity to represent Australia at the MercedesTrophy World Final, to take place at the ‘birthplace of the automobile’, Stuttgart, Germany in October.
Competitors faced challenging weather conditions over the two competition rounds, which were held on the internationally renowned championship golf courses – The Pines and The Palms. The courses were each presented in outstanding condition, and after 36 holes of tournament play, three players prevailed.
Silver Star Motors very own representatives shined through the entire event withTroy Pullar completing exceptionally across both tournament days to finish with 76 Stableford points and claim the prestigious Australian title. Again Silver Star's Dexter Prak came in second place completing the tournament with 72 points and will join Troy as Team Australia at the MercedesTrophy World Final from 1-6 October.
An annual Drive to the Major was also in play with our third and final member of the Silver Star Motors team placing an acheivable win with Will Lauria taking first placeas a result he will be going to watch ‘The Open’ tournament at the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews, Scotland from July 15 – July 20.
